This post will be a jumble of what I think of it after being here for about two weeks so far. i’m certainly no local, so don’t go at me for not visiting my local sauna twice a week 🫣

Kuopio, oh Kuopio… what a nice little city it is.

I’ve lived in plenty of strange and somewhat niche towns in Europe, and I have to say that Kuopio is a solid two-thumbs up from me👍👍

I’m in the Männistö region of the city, which is

But one must be decisive, and therefore, ultimately, here are some of the pros and cons I’ve accumulated on the notepad of my phone:

Pros

• Cleanliness
• Quietness
• Order + Civility
• Walkable (good pavements!)
• Good array of shops + those shops have good stock
• Easy to use public transit
• Great Library
• Fruit + veg from the grocery shop doesn’t rot in a day!
• Electric scooters!
• Those small robots that rove and deliver groceries!! They’re fantastic, I love them.

Cons

• Cost (it’s Finland, let’s be real about the prices)
• It’s not a big con, but just getting used to Finnish people and their way of thinking, hahaha
